The Canadian Wheelchair Dance Academy

Toni Triplett and The Canadian Wheelchair Dance Academy (CWDA) provide opportunities for people using wheelchairs to experience what might have been the impossible dream….to dance. Such a dream becomes a reality through the Canadian Wheelchair Dance Academy program.

The CWDA Wheeldance program connects wheelchair users to the sheer pleasure of music and dance. Participants, together with a walking (dancing) partner, learn and experience movement, style and patterns in a variety of dances.

The CWDA invites wheelchair users to the dance. Many people using wheelchairs are now dancing for the first time. These are people from all areas of life, each with different capabilities, paraplegic and quadriplegic, people of differing backgrounds, experiences and ages are invited to join in this celebration of life, music and movement. The CWDA program is open to everyone who wants to dance.

The CWDA is home based at the beautiful Kinsmen Recreation Centre in Tsawwassen.
